is a
PHYSICAL
THERAPIST?
A physical
therapist is an expert in movement science who evaluates
and treats pain and dysfunction caused by abnormal movement.
Each
day, more than 750,000 people in the US are seen by a
physical therapist. A PT restores physical function through
education, specialized forms of exercise and hands-on
manual techniques to prevent further injury.
Usually,
a PT has a 4-year undergraduate degree, followed by post-graduate
work in physical therapy and frequent continuing education
courses.
